LexisNexis has introduced Protégé, a next-generation personalized AI assistant powered by agentic AI and generative AI, leveraging Microsoft Azure and Azure OpenAI Service. Developed in collaboration with leading law firms, corporations, and law schools, Protégé is embedded within the Lexis+ AI workflow solution and integrated with Microsoft Word to automate, draft, and analyze complex legal documents at scale. The agentic AI in Protégé can autonomously complete tasks based on user goals, review and improve its own work, and suggest workflow actions tailored to the user's context. Users can upload thousands of documents and have Protégé summarize, draft, research, and generate timelines or discovery questions, along with linking quotations back to source documentation. The system is personalized to each user's role, jurisdiction, and style, and integrates with DMS like iManage and SharePoint, facilitating tailored legal outcomes securely and privately. A proprietary Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) platform powers the solution, grounding LLM answers in LexisNexis' trusted legal content and metadata. LexisNexis' responsible AI principles, advanced encryption, and privacy controls underscore the platform's compliance. More than 50 major legal industry partners drove the innovation, aiming to unlock efficiency, productivity, and enhanced accuracy for legal professionals while safely leveraging the latest in AI technology.
