Helsinki transforms student success and well-being with advanced education analytics
The City of Helsinki Education Division, serving over 100,000 students and 14,000 teachers, partnered with Microsoft to create an advanced education analytics platform. Leveraging Microsoft Azure AI and Open Education Analytics (OEA), Helsinki developed its digitalization strategy to turn 'invisible' educational factors into actionable insights using big data and AI. The objective was to enable personalized learning, inform pedagogical decisions, and foster a culture of responsible and ethical AI in education. Through collaboration and global community support, Helsinki built an evolving analytics system designed to continuously improve operational decisions and student well-being, while ensuring data privacy and fairness remain paramount.
