Kenya launches national alliance to develop youth AI skills
The Kenya AI Skilling Alliance (KAISA) has been launched as a collaborative ecosystem to boost AI literacy and automation skills among the country’s youth. This initiative, supported by the Office of the President of Kenya and public and private sector partners, is designed to prepare young people for a future driven by artificial intelligence and digital transformation. The project leverages Microsoft’s AI skills initiatives and aims to drive government skilling programs, policy advocacy, ecosystem coordination, and industry collaboration. The launch has garnered strong support from leaders across industry, international organizations, and education in Kenya. The KAISA is expected to have a positive impact by empowering youth with critical technology skills, thus aiding in the growth of Kenya’s AI ecosystem and the expansion of workforce opportunities in a rapidly changing digital landscape.
