KLab: AI-powered Cloud Governance Center to reduce game infrastructure costs and scale for peak concurrent users

Use case typeCloud migrationUpdated Jul 21, 2026

KLab China migrated its gaming production environment to Alibaba Cloud US (Virginia) to support massive concurrent users with high scalability, low latency, and reliability. The company used Alibaba Cloud Cloud Governance Center for AI-driven cost analysis and governance in a multi-account environment while also deploying ECS, ACK, ALB, GA, OSS, ApsaraDB RDS for PostgreSQL, Tair, and Alibaba Cloud CDN.

  • 1Cloud migration
  • 2Cost governance
  • 3Operations optimization
  • Rising annual operational costs.
  • Need to handle massive concurrent users with high scalability and reliability.
  • High dependency on the existing environment created migration risk and required careful technical verification.
  • Migrated the production environment to Alibaba Cloud with minimal modifications.
  • Used Global Accelerator, Application Load Balancer, ECS-based routing, ACK microservices, ApsaraDB RDS for PostgreSQL, Tair caching, OSS storage, and Alibaba Cloud CDN.
  • Applied AI-powered Cloud Governance Center for real-time cloud cost visibility and optimization in a multi-account setup.
  • Reduced unnecessary cloud spending and freed budget for strategic activities.
  • Handled massive concurrent users with consistent low-latency performance during peak traffic.
  • Migrated core workloads with minimal modifications while reducing technical overhead via automated monitoring and resource management.
Architecture

The production environment is deployed on Alibaba Cloud in the US (Virginia) region. Global Accelerator receives user traffic at the edge with low latency. Application Load Balancer manages HTTPS termination and path-based routing. An HAProxy layer on ECS handles detailed routing and circuit breaker control, distributing traffic to microservices running on Container Service for Kubernetes. Persistent data is stored in ApsaraDB RDS for PostgreSQL Serverless and Tair is used as the caching layer. Static content is stored in Object Storage Service and delivered worldwide via Alibaba Cloud CDN. Cloud Governance Center is used in a multi-account environment to visualize and optimize cloud costs in real time.
