How Tech Mahindra builds AIBuild, Buy & Compose — what they mean
Pharma Co-vigilance by Tech Mahindra offers an automated system for processing pharmacovigilance case intake, particularly for adverse event reporting, utilizing Azure AI and large language model (LLM)-based agentic frameworks. Traditionally, pharma companies have relied on manual and labor-intensive processes for triaging large volumes of safety-related emails, risking human error and delays in regulatory compliance. The solution integrates directly with corporate email systems, leveraging generative AI and multiple AI agents to monitor, classify, prioritize, and verify incoming emails for valid pharmacovigilance cases. Case automation, real-time notifications, configurable prioritization rules, and compliance tracking allow organizations to reduce workload, improve case accuracy, and meet reporting deadlines more efficiently. Available as a consulting service through the Azure Marketplace, this showcases a direct, real-world application of Microsoft technology in pharmaceutical safety workflows.
Spark New Zealand, the country's largest telecommunications provider, undertook a two-year, company-wide back-office transformation by replacing its legacy ERP system with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management. The project aimed to support Spark's Agile operating model and diverse business needs that the previous SAP system could no longer meet. Over 35 applications were integrated, collaborating across teams from Spark, Microsoft, implementation lead Infosys, and Tech Mahindra. Microsoft Teams enabled remote collaboration during the COVID-19 pandemic, and Microsoft FastTrack provided vital guidance through design and migration. Migration to the new platform was completed with an unprecedented 'big bang' approach, turning on ERP functionality for all departments overnight and minimizing business disruption. The new system streamlined onboarding, finance, procurement, and data-driven decision-making. Spark now leverages Azure Data Lake for advanced analytics and forecasting, with plans for further integration and added features. The transformation improved employee empowerment, operational efficiency, and commercial agility in the telecommunications industry.
