Zurich Insurance Group enhances claims operations and governance across global teams
Zurich Insurance Group implemented Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps and Power Automate, to automate and optimize business processes across its global insurance operations. To support and govern citizen development, Zurich deployed the Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE) Starter Kit in their global tenant. This provided unified telemetry, enabling visibility into all apps and flows in the organization and letting local teams control environments with dashboards and certification systems. Governance tools were built using Power Platform Admin connectors, and group-based licensing was managed automatically via Power Automate and Entra ID. These measures led to a secure platform with zero reported incidents and significant adoption: more than 25,000 employees use Power Apps monthly, with over 200,000 flow runs per day. The Center of Excellence drove maker engagement, maintained high adoption, handled mass policy updates, and empowered local teams to prioritize migration and usage. This initiative has led to deep operational efficiency and consistent platform governance on a global scale.
